Changes In Solano County

On Jan 2002, new leaders took over Solano’s Economic Development Organizations. These organizations now attract startups and company relocations.

Since Karin MacMillan became Fairfield's mayor, she has focused on attracting professional businesses to Fairfield's center. Less viable companies have moved on. Fairfield's center boasts Solano's greatest concentration of professional businesses, and innovative thinkers.

The mile long West Texas Street, is the gateway from I-80 to the historic center of Fairfield. It is becoming known as Solano's AGolden Mile@. Watch for West Texas Street and Allan Witt Park improvements in 2004.  Solano County plans to consolidate its offices into Central Fairfield's new seven-story structure project. Watch for further developments.
